Study At Neighboring Institutions

Although not a formal travel program, some students may be interested in supplementing their Montserrat College of Art education with coursework in other disciplines offered at nearby institutions. Through the Northeast Consortium of Colleges and Universities of Massachusetts (N.E.C.C.U.M.), students may take 1 or 2 classes a semester in addition to their full-time coursework at Montserrat. Many schools are within 5 miles of Montserrat’s campus. Please visit the Registrar’s page for more information.

Montserrat distinguishes itself as one of the top colleges of art and design through the consortium of the A.I.C.A.D. school network. A.I.C.A.D.—the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design—is a non-profit consortium of 43 leading art colleges in North America.

Through A.I.C.A.D., Montserrat students can participate in the Mobility Program, which provides an opportunity for students to study for one semester at another A.I.C.A.D. institution. It offers the experience and benefit of studying at a different institution while living in a different geographic area. Mobility students remain registered at Montserrat, retaining residency and student aid eligibility, and receive credit toward completion of the Montserrat degree.
