Welcome

Here at Montserrat College of Art we see each of our students as whole artists - as individuals with tremendous talent and potential. We pride ourselves on being a small college for art where students are valued as both individuals and members of a supportive and inclusive community. The relationships you will establish here and the life-skills you will cultivate will travel with you for life.

Montserrat College of Art offers many programs throughout the year that enable you to demonstrate your individual talents and take risks in your learning and art-making that only an intimate, supportive community can provide. Our faculty members are professional teachers and artists who will become trusted mentors and lifelong friends.

Montserrat College of Art: A Unique Educational Experience

Our programs are tailored to where learning takes place, both inside and outside the classroom. More than just a college for art, we offer programs in time management, diversity, current issues, and internships and apprenticeships. We also provide our students the opportunities to volunteer in the community through our 1.5-credit community service course, attend gallery visits to Boston and New York City, and programs for fun and relaxation, like our open mic nights, movie nights, and video game tournaments. Montserrat College of Art also has the Bear Gallery, a student run art gallery that provides you with the valuable experience of organizing and operating a professional gallery. This is not a typical academic path, but an extraordinary journey as a visual artist in a world-class college for art.

Residence Life at a College for Art

Residence life at Montserrat College of Art is as distinctive as the college for art itself. Each building has its own unique feel, and all of our residence halls are apartment style with living rooms, kitchens, and shared or single bedrooms. We also offer an off campus dining plan for added convenience.

If you have any questions about any of our programs, please send me an e-mail at maureen.wark@montserrat.edu. I’m here to make your experience the best it can be.
