Here at Montserrat College of Art we see each of our students as whole
artists - as individuals with tremendous talent and potential. We pride
ourselves on being a small college where students are valued as both
individuals and members of a supportive and inclusive community. The
relationships you will establish here and the life-skills you will cultivate
will travel with you for life.
We offer many programs throughout the year that enable you to demonstrate your individual talents and take risks in your learning and art-making that only an intimate, supportive community can provide. Our faculty members are professional teachers and artists who will become trusted mentors and lifelong friends.
Our programs are tailored to where learning tales place, both inside and outside the classroom. We offer programs in time management, diversity, current issues, and gallery trips to Boston and New York City, internships and apprenticeships, opportunities to volunteer in the community, and programs for fun and relaxation; such as our open mic nights, movie nights, and video game tournaments. We also have a student run art gallery – the Bear Gallery – that provides you with the valuable experience of organizing and operating a professional gallery.
Yours is not a typical academic path, but an extraordinary journey as a visual artist.
Residence life at Montserrat College of Art is as distinctive as the college itself. Each building has its own unique feel, and all of our residence halls are apartment style with living rooms, kitchens, and shared or single bedrooms. We also offer an off campus dining plan for added convenience.
If you have any questions about any of our programs, please send me an e-mail at bbicknell@montserrat.edu. I’m here to make your experience the best it can be.
