Impact of Higher Education on the Workforce and Economy

President Steve Immerman was one of seven North Shore college presidents to speak today about the impact of higher education on the workforce and economy of the region to the North Shore Chamber of Commerce at a breakfast meeting at the Hawthorne Hotel.

The Beverly Chamber of Commerce coordinated a networking event at Montserrat College of Art to welcome new president, Dr. Stephen Immerman.  The college hosted a wonderful event and over 60 attendees of the business community were on hand to meet the president along with viewing the art gallery, which is open daily to the public.

Founding Faculty Members Visit

Founding faculty members Roger Martin, left, and Ollie Balf, right, flank Montserrat President Steve Immerman during a meeting at the college last week. The two founders came to meet the new president and each donated a piece of their art to the upcoming Artrageous!24 benefit art auction, which will be held May 1. Both men live on Cape Ann and still continue to paint and create art.

President Stephen Immerman spent his first day on campus Monday, meeting faculty, staff, students and trustees in special events the campus planned for him. President Immerman comes to Montserrat from a long and successful career at MIT in Boston, and the campus is thrilled to have him join us.
