Reception: Thursday, March 1, 6 – 9 pm
Porter Mill, 95 Rantoul St. Beverly, MA

Alyssa is known for doing two things really well: turning her backyard garden into an art gallery each summer and curating an annual exhibition of her own beautiful and colorful oil paintings of birds. Since 2008 this entrepreneurial painter, who makes a living selling her original oil paintings and line of gifts, survives the New England winter by creating these colorful paintings. She displays them each spring in a much-anticipated solo exhibition. – excerpt from North Shore Magazine

Megan McNaught at NK Gallery Exhibit

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Instructor Megan McNaught is in an exhibition of paintings and drawings entitled Agglomeration alongside artist Luke Buffenmeyer this February at NK Gallery in Boston Feb. 3 – 24. Opening Reception: Friday Feb. 3, 5 – 8 pm

Visit the NK Gallery site for more information.

Agglomeration merges MacNaught and Bufenmeyer’s individuality to create something bigger than themselves as a collaborative experiment to see what combining two different approaches to image making would yield.

McNaught’s work has been focused on formal issues of image making using strategies similar to game playing as building blocks to tap into her creativity.  Her tightly planned structures using repetitive pattern, mark making, and shapes result in a complexity that creates a dynamic geometry that takes on a life of its own.

Heidi Daub Announces London Show

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

“She Hears Music,”Acrylic on paper, 19" x 24"

Alumna Heidi Daub ’82 is participating in the group show, Hidden Gems of Contemporary Art, at the KPK Gallery in London from Jan. 20 through Feb. 9. The exhibit will also include innovative New England based artists Carol Bass, Richard Garrigus, Libby Mitchell, Annette Kearney, Avy Claire, and Laurie Hadlock.

“My paintings evolve from an introspection, and are like poems to me, coming out of an awareness, a sense,” says Heidi. “How we perceive and feel, the nebulous space between the physical reality of a given situation, person or place, and the perceptions we carry, the curiosity and non-linear ways of looking at time. This comes up through everyday living, influenced by the natural forms I see daily, the actions of people in my life, my writing, and is something which finds its way to the surface through the process of painting.”

Visit www.heididaub.com for the latest exhibition updates of Heidi’s work and learn more about her upcoming events. Also, follow up with her on her blog: www.heididaub.blogpot.com
