Alumnus Eric Hopkins Announces Book Signing

Eric Hopkins ’71 will be signing Above and Beyond in Rockland, Maine

. The book is the first to represent Hopkins’ signature aerial panoramas of Maine islands.

Thurs., Sept. 22, Book signing at 12:30 pm; Illustrated talk by Hopkins at 1 – 2 pm & 2:15 – 4 pm at Farnsworth Art Museum Library, Rockland, ME.

“From his earliest work with glass to his signature aerial panoramas of Maine islands, Hopkins has consistently explored boundaries of medium, space and vision. A native of North Haven Island, Hopkins has attended the Rhode Island School of Design and Montserrat College of Art and has taught at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. In the 1980s, he developed images for which he is most known — aerial views of coastal motifs, in which horizons bend and an archipelago of spruce topped isles spreads across the canvas. “Eric Hopkins: Above and Beyond” is the first book to represent the breathtaking work of this American artist.” —Dagney Ernest, VillageSoup Editor Read More…
