Summer Internships ’09

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Twenty-one Montserrat students are wrapping up their summer internships and will meet on August 31 for a “share and compare” discussion about their experiences. Internships this summer took place around New England and in Tokyo, Japan. Interns worked in print, Web, and apparel design, in museums, summer theater, publishing, and with community-based green artists, the national Encaustic conference held on campus, and in the studio and gallery of professional artists.

August 22nd and Beyond

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Over the course of the past few weeks Student Services and all of the college has been busily preparing for August 22nd and beyond. With the number of new students greatly increased over the past, we are very excited. The changes we have been making are incredible. Here are just a few:

  • We have converted 41 Essex from an administrative building to a residence hall.
  • We have renovated 1A Knowlton so that it will be a much better learning space.
  • We have made upgrades in our IT infrastructure and curriculum (more on that in a later blog post).
  • We have made two new senior work spaces (still have more work to do with these spaces, but we are on our way).
  • And of course, we have a 7 million dollar residence village in place.

Most of all, we are excited for the new  year to begin!

Take care,
