This summer, we’re working in the past, present and the future. Past: We’re wrapping up things from spring semester. Present: By the time you read this, our summer program in Viterbo will have begun, led by Dean Laura Tonelli. The planes departed at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 2. And the Pre-College program starts on Monday, July 6 (read about it in Kathleen’s entry). Future: The fall semester is coming up sooner than we think. It’s hard to believe there are only a few weeks before the first day of class! We’ve heard from many incoming freshmen and transfers, and can’t wait to meet everybody. They will be greeted by our wonderful faculty, including Diane Ayott and Masako Kamiya, who will be returning from very productive sabbaticals, and Meredith Morten, returning from a Fulbright Research Fellowship in Hungary. The Writing Center will see a change of leadership this year, with the Director, Erin Dionne, taking some time to finish her latest book, and the Interim Director, Colleen Michaels, moving in, bringing her experience and energy with her. All in all, life doesn’t stop or even slow down much!
