Artrageous!25 Art Auction Sets Record, Nets Estimated
$275,000 for Scholarships!
Close to 600 people attended Montserrat College of Art's 25th Artrageous! benefit art auction April 30, hosted by Brookwood Financial Partners, a major event sponsor who also donated a large, loft-like space at 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, for the North Shore's signature spring event. Thomas N. Trkla, Founding Partner, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, served as honorary chair of the event. Stuart Whitehurst of Skinner, Inc. served alongside Trustee R. Hilliard Ebling of Wenham as master of ceremonies and auctioneer.
The party drew art aficionados, artists, patrons and benefactors who helped raise money to support scholarships for Montserrat students, 97% of whom require aid to earn their degree. This year's featured artist, Rachel Perry Welty, was recently featured at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. Her donations were joined by the works of nearly 200 other local, regional and nationally known artists, sales of whose works helped the college to raise an estimated record-setting $275,000.00.
