Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Get your pin at www.pin.ed.gov. Begin searching for private scholarships. Some websites include: www.fastweb.com, www.finaid.org, www.fastap.org

February

Complete Admission application, submit portfolio. File FAFSA if you have not yet done so! Priority deadline fall is March 1st; for spring is October 1st..

March

Award letters begin going out March 15th! Respond to requests from the financial aid office for documents including tax returns. Contact your town hall or high school guidance office about scholarship opportunities!

May

Begin researching alternative finance options such as Plus loans, TMS payment plan or private loans. Determine amount that needs to be financed (cost of attending minus financial aid awarded). Do not wait for the bill! Apply before you receive a bill and you can then have peace of mind and adjust the amount later if need be.

Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Notes go out in mail to students to complete. All first time borrowers of Stafford loans must complete entrance counseling. Go to www.mapping-your-future.org to complete your session online!

July

Deadline to have financing in place is August 1st. Make sure all loan applications have been completed and returned to Montserrat or lender. Avoid late charges, get financing in order now!
