Student Government
The student government which is called Student Voice, allows students to have a voice in college policies, events and activities. Each year, a student is elected to serve as a student representative at faculty meetings. Student Voice members also sit on the college’s Facilities Committee, Academic and Student Services committees, as well as attending Student Services staff meetings. Student Voice members are active in programming and planning as various social activities and events. The Assistant Dean of Student Services works with Student Voice members to create a schedule of educational and entertaining activities. Students also initiate their own events such as open mic nights, an annual Halloween party, picnics, movie nights, video game nights, and other programs.

Student Employment
Montserrat College offers a variety of seasonal and part-time on-campus employment opportunities to students. Our mission is to assist students in gaining employment to help finance the cost of their daily expenses. Students are encouraged to check the virtual job board periodically.

Field Trips
Several times during the year Montserrat provides bus trips to Boston, New York, and other cities to visit art galleries and museums. These trips are inexpensive ways to explore major cultural centers and see important works of art.

Museum Admission
All students with Montserrat identification cards are entitled to free admission to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. Many other museums offer free or discount admission to students with valid IDs.

Shopping Trips
Unless otherwise noted, shopping trips will take place every Sunday afternoon. The van will leave from the Hardie Building around noon. This provides an opportunity for students to go to the mall, buy groceries, or art supplies.

First Friday in Boston
Starting in March, every first Friday of the month, we provide transportation into Boston (SOWA) for the gallery openings.
