How do I know if I plagiarized?

• copied and pasted information from a web site directly into your paper with no attribution/citation?
• forgotten to put quotes around a statement taken directly from another source?
• quoted and/or paraphrased an author without attaching a Work Cited page to illustrate where the source came from?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you have plagiarized a portion of your paper. Get help from any of the following sources and fix the problem:

• meet with a Writing Center consultant
• ask your instructor for help
• visit http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/research/index.html for handouts on how to document sources appropriately
• use any of the writing manuals scattered around the Writing Center
