Montserrat’s Creative Writing Minor allows students to focus on developing their interest in the artistic practice of writing creatively. Pairing nicely with the studio concentration, students will take an introductory-level course that highlights both fiction and poetry, and then they will take three additional classes to further focus their minor. Optional courses include Poetry Writing, Writing Fiction, and Journal Writing. Other classes, such as Writing for Children or Aspects of Modern Fiction, allow a student to explore a range of writing styles. Ideal for students interested in publishing, screenwriting, or graphic novels, this minor gives students experience developing their craft and learning the critical editing skills needed for success in the field.
