Student Debt Load
According to the Institute for College Access & Success, the average debt load carried by graduates of 4-year colleges in 2010 was $25,250. The average federal loan debt for Montserrat students that year was $23,266 and the total loan debt (including private loans) was $43,476.
Beginning in 2009, to help address the loan debt of its students, the College increased the average institutional award given to students by 65%. As such, the average debt load of the 2009 freshmen class is expected to be $34,500.
