Starting Fall 2013. Ph.D. (or ABD) required. Looking for a candidate who is interested in taking a leadership role in rethinking the two-semester art history survey. The applicant’s field of specialization is open, but it should include at least a strong secondary emphasis on non-European, non-western, or colonial/postcolonial art.
The art history offerings are part of a studio-centered curriculum that also includes an art history minor and an expanding art education program. The three/three teaching load will be comprised of survey, likely participation in a team-taught freshman seminar, and the potential to develop electives in the faculty member’s areas of specialization.
College teaching experience beyond the TA level required. Send letter of interest, including teaching philosophy and ideas about survey, c.v., names/contact information of three references, and indication of plans to attend CAA. Email application materials in single, complete file to the Human Resources department at Montserrat College of Art, firstname.lastname@example.org, with the subject line “Art History Search.” To be assured of full consideration, apply by December 1, 2012.
